You're probably expecting to use the D-Pad to move the tetriminos, so for that, you need a community workshop control profile for this game. The one that's there right now works like a charm. However, there's some intense visual shimmering that I don't know the cause of that makes it a degraded experience. You can play it, but Tetris Effect: Connected is as much about the pretty visuals as it is about the gameplay, so you probably will want to find a way to fix this.
Tinkering or fix steps
Open the VR control mapping settings, click add another profile, then find the Frame d-pad profile and apply it.
